What I learned this week (04/11/2024)

In my opinion of this week, I learned how to put into action what I learned last week, specifically critiquing my own and others’ project work so far.

This week myself and my class was tasked to give critical feedback on both project 1 (Point, Line and Plane) along with project 2 (UDH Poster). Before jumping in, we had to make sure we were crossing 4 specific points to keep in mind when reviewing.

These points were:

To begin, myself and others were sorted into 5 groups of 5. From there one , we were tasked to give constructive feedback of other group members’ work the same as they would ours.

Eventually, by the time I received my constructive feedback starting with Point, Line and Plane, the reviewers had to guess the word my created frames stood under, no matter what stage I was in.

For the majority, it may have been a struggle but a good portion guessed my chosen words correctly. However, the ones that struggled the most was really helpful as it gave me a chance to reevaluate my work to then improve and make my designs more relatable to their chosen work

In particular the one people struggled most with was my second line design (the donkey). The reason is not only because I had only one frame completed but my chosen work ‘Frequency’ wasn't being grasped good enough. Following this, I would drag this into Figma and rework the design to make it more suitable to the word.

To improve, I made my frame begin as a basic frequency chat with the later frames holding the chart into the final image of a donkey.

How I will use these in my future projects

A lot of what I learned this week was so helpful in achieving my project. From what I learnt and how I will use it in the future would be the feedback. Feedback is extremely valuable when it comes to work and projects and any feedback that was given to me I plan on implementing into my work, to improve upon and create a satisfying and successful projects.
