XR- Extended reality (The umbrella term for all titles)
MR- Mixed Reality. (The other umbrella Term for all titles)
VR- Virtual Reality
AR- Augmented Reality/ AV- Augmented Virtuality
Virtual Reality was incredibly over hyped, that fell off pretty quickly.
The development of VR has evolved incredibly fast, with clunky headsets and setups with wires and sensors, to then just a simple wireless headset, and two optional controllers within 6 years.
There are 4 pillars of VR
All pillars combine into a term called ‘Presence’ which creates a subjective psychological sensation of actually ‘Being there’ in a digital space.
