This week I learned the importance of typography within design how it is used and what typeface is best suitable for specific occasions.
The next vital piece I learned within this weeks class was the importance of and the impact the ‘Gutenberg press’ had on the design, arts any other related industry related to typography in the year 1440.
What I learned during the invention of the Gutenberg press though the years of typography within design is how much impact type has within design. When the Gutenberg press was created the face types for the machine were hand made, creating a huge amount of maintenance, but also sparking the creativity of custom face types that could also be used through print.
Design a promotional poster advertising a lecture by Johannes Gutenberg, must include;
Upon this flash exercise being dropped I only had about 30 minutes to create my first poster of this year being limited to typography only with limited colour and shapes. I had to choose a suitable font-type that can be seen being relatable to the Gutenberg Press. ****

What I learned today was pretty valuable as it taught me the importance of hierarchy and typeface layouts to keep a strong and consistent flow through the poster design. I plan on using everything I learned in the future in the future as it is extremely important if I plan on using text to get a message across successfully, especially over UI/UX design.
