What I learned this week (09/12/2024)

This class was the last class of the semester before Christmas, like UXD 101, today was spent on giving and receiving feedback on current progress for project 3, artist research/ essay.

Comparing this weeks class with the previous I received a lot of both positive and negative feedback about my website which was extremely helpful to implement into my existing and currently developing website.

I first took everything with a grain of salt, starting with the positive feedback. A lot of this was pretty similar, good colour palette, making the site pop towards the user. Along with good and visual hierarchy to the website.

Now moving on to the negative feedback which was primarily the most important. A lot of people found the initial concept for the site as ‘Boring’ and suggested trying to make it more relatable to Saul Bass, the artist I was researching. For example, they suggested I added more illustrative traits to the sight such as adding geometric shapes.

Another user suggested to play about more with the layout to try and prevent it from repeating itself such as having images ‘zig-zag’ its way down the page, to keep it a little more entertaining.

Overall, as the last class of the semester I’m really glad to have received such useful feedback for such an important and big project as I was able to put a lot of these comments to use and attempt to make my website more engaging and appealing to the target audience.
