This week in class, we covered the importance of story telling within design, particularly with storyboarding and showing one’s design. I found it really interesting and helpful, especially for this semesters project on how important and useful it can be to show/ explain how a design that may be difficult for others to understand can be understood, by simply telling ‘a story’.
what is storytelling ?
Narrative
characters
conflict
change
The building components of a story, with a step towards telling a successful story-
When: When is it set?
Where: Where is it set?
Who: Who are the characters?
What: What do they do ?
How: How do the characters succeed ?
Why: Why does the story exist ?
When a storyboard is created, it can help all participants (You, Clients, Users, Stakeholders), understand and visualise a clear vision of how a concept can and should be applied.
