This week I learned about the use of ‘No-Code’ tools or apps. No-code tools are applications that allow users to both create and design functional websites or apps without having to manually code content and features.
The app I was introduced to was called ‘Framer’. On first impressions Framer was extremely similar to Figma in terms of layout and icons, as they were developed by the same company. It was easy to create designs within the app due to my knowledge with Figma.
The biggest difference between the two is that I can make my designs functional with Framer, which was incredibly difficult to grasp, especially with breakpoints. What I mostly struggled with was always something small that I may have missed such as every piece of content was all the same settings bar one, which would make the entire design inoperable.
Overall, I do think this app may be an extreme learning curve for me but will be highly beneficial in the long run so I plan on using this in the future either for work or personal work, just to get more of a grasp and refine my skills.
