Exercise: Define your research questions

Start broad, then get specific, your high-level questions frame the study, your specific questions tell you exactly what to look for.

High-level

• Can users complete tasks

Exercise: Design your test plan

The test plan helps us to plan the research in advance, including what we want to learn, who is involved, the timeline, tools, etc we need to prepare.

Think about:

• What is the purpose of the research?
• Who is involved?
• What tools are going to be used?
• What is the timeline for the work?

Exercise: Design your recruitment screener

A recruitment screener determines who participates in your study. The people you talk to shape the insights you get. Your project relates to the prison release process. Think about the people involved, released offenders, pre-released, prison staff, service users, etc.

Think about:

• Project context
• Who is the target users?
• Diversity & Representation
