What I learned this week within reverse history was a cross a broad spectrum of the evolution of art and design, in reverse. Starting with the use of AI within the likes of moves and how they were impacted within design decades ago such as cave paintings being featured in the movie ‘Prometheus’. Following this, I would go on to learn how much of an impact design had made within the music industry through the use of album covers. Finally, what was discussed was how the Japanese painting ‘ The great Wave off Kanagawa’ by Hokusai. I learned about how this piece was introduced to the art industry and became a huge influence with them, which then lead to sparking a new era of design.
I was then provided a brief for the upcoming project of a typographic poster. Whilst this was given I learned how typography could be implemented within design and the use of hierarchy within those posters. During this class it was also discussed what to include within the posters swell as the golden ration and the Fibonacci sequence which I learned in interaction design fundamentals class.
When it comes to implementing what I learned within my future projects I believe everything I learned will be helpful with research. Learning about the key eras of design history and how they came to be will be usually when looking for specific elements of my projects that may require refined research.
