Finishing professional practice module, I felt, ended in a huge success. Similar to how content design ended, I felt like I didn’t do too much in terms of satisfaction for other projects within the module, and ended with a great project I can be proud of.
There was 4 mid- short type of projects within this module, which felt different, in comparison to last year. Despite this, there was so much to learn with each project, and every project will help in terms of developing my future career, with the website, portfolio, branding, etc.
When considering how I felt with each project, the one I would say I struggled the most with was the website. The reason for this, is how many options I could choose from, I wanted to build my own, and tried to use Framer. However, due to the lack of experience, It was taking too long to finish and learn, especially when it came time for the deadline. Despite finding my way around this issue, I feel like I was just under quite a bit of pressure, and easily became too ambitious of developing the site.
As for projects 1 and 3, I feel like they were more informational based more than anything, aside from being shorter than projects 2 and 4, I had fun building up my CV again, although I’ve done it so many times, it’s a bit repetitive. I did find it really interesting and enjoyed getting to rate how well presented my CV was by the end of it, with it only taking me 3 attempts to get a rating of 97%.
The most impactful project for me was the pitch presentation. It was the most design and researched based between all projects (aside from the audit) that I had a lot of fun working on. Getting to develop a digital product and to then be able to pitch it, helping build up confidence for what presentations could be like sounded difficult at first but ended up being pretty satisfying to end.
Finally, overall, This module had a good balance of research and design in my opinion, and heavily focused on developing my brand, and future career within digital design. There wasn’t really anything major that I struggled with or effected me, which was great to know, as it gives me a boost of confidence that I am improving within this course.
