Following the completion of UXD 104 as a full module there were many moments and areas that I experienced both positively and negatively (mostly positive). As with any module there are always ups with a couple of downs, but with this module I really enjoyed it all the way through, gaining a lot of experience and I had fun developing and learning new skills with the applications I used.

Right away, my tutor kept the class very entertaining and engaging with a good bit of banter through the lessons, so as to prevent the class from being bored or withdrawn. As for the workload, at first coming back from Christmas into this module was a bit of struggle to get back into routine, which of course didn't last too long luckily.

When it comes to talking about the experience gained from my first project, I do have to say I preferred the dashboard over the music app, mostly due to making life hard for myself by going a bit too unique for one of my first development projects. However, comparing both projects at their final gave me pretty good satisfaction as I was able to see fairly clearly how far my skills had improved since Christmas time.

Following this, there was so much to learn within each class per week even as small as reminders from the previous semester I always found pretty helpful to keep me on track. I believe the biggest negative that stood out to me the most was the guest speakers through the modules. The reason why I thought this is because we got these guest speakers about 3 weeks in a row instead of being evenly spaced out and to me a lot of their stories, questions and answers just sound the same as the last speaker.

Aside from this, between both projects, the reason I found the Dashboard project better than before was how much more skilled I was with using animations, components and prototypes within Figma, leading me to design and create more in depth and interactive pieces of work. I also really liked it as it gave me a bit more freedom with ideation and design work compared to the music app, which sort of limited me, as no matter how many designs I came up with it always looked way too similar to existing music apps.

Finally, to conclude this module, I have to say it was an extremely fun, engaging and educational module, backed up by its pretty diverse two projects. The skills I developed along the way will definitely be utilised in the future as well as being more refined.
