Paper concepts

This week in class (02/03/2026) a task was asked of myself and the class to develop a quick persona and user journey using paper, on what a person may be like, or want to have in their house in 50 years times.

There was quiet a lot of steps in developing these different tasks, with the purpose of helping me decide and ideate any ideas that could be interesting and innovate within a possible common household, in Northern Ireland In 50 years time.

The first image below, depicts a quick and simple persona, consisting of a man 26, Jonesy Jones-Bones, who is a developer.

I made their personality contradicting yet technological by having them be an our going person, yet very quiet, sort of in correlation with how lights may work.

The next step was listing a couple of future based ideas that may be found in this conceptual home, these ideas would then be featured as part of the home. When I was coming up with my ideas, I wanted to aim for the future, but also keep some realistic features and even more “futuristic’ technology that already exists today, but isn’t the norm.

The next step of this development was to create a simple house blueprint/ layout, of what the house could look like from a birds-eye perspective, whilst of course labelling each room and implementing the contents of the ideas from the previous task.

I wanted to keep my house a single floor style building, as I feel like these are becoming increasingly common in today’s world. Following this, I also wanted to again keep it modern yet realistic, similar to how a theatre styles in today’s world.

On the bottom I also included a short number of features that would be part of the home, taking into consideration their purpose and functionality.

The final set of this task was to create a short and simple storyboard of the user journey on how the house works, what the user does on a daily routine, and what elements of my previous ideas have a role.
